New unit of Enertis Applus+ PV mobile laboratory launched in Australia

  • The PV Mobile Lab carries out on-site tests on PV modules, reducing the time and risks associated with the inspection.
  • The PV Mobile Lab is currently available in Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Europe, in addition to the recently launched unit in Australia.

Brisbane, November 26th, 2024.- Global consulting, engineering, and quality control firm, Enertis Applus+, with extensive expertise in the renewable energy and storage sectors, has launched a new unit of its mobile laboratory in Australia. The Oceanic country joins Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Europe, markets in which the company already operates mobile laboratories to carry out on-site tests on solar PV modules.

The PV Mobile Lab, designed and patented by Enertis Applus+ in 2012, has undergone significant evolution over the years to enable specialised and accredited on-site testing on bifacial and large solar PV modules, minimizing the risks associated with transportation and reducing module downtime. Over the past few weeks, the new PV Mobile Lab unit has been performing different specialized tests on solar modules from Beryl Solar Farm, located in New South Wales, for Banpu Australia, and Gunsynd Solar Farm, located in Queensland, for PCL Construction.

The PV Mobile Lab is equipped to perform Maximum Power Point tests (flash tests) under standard test conditions and electroluminescence (EL) tests to check the condition of solar modules after installation and during operation to detect internal defects. The aim is to ensure their correct performance. Notably, the lab features an A+A+A+ rated solar simulator, ensuring the highest quality of testing and accuracy as per industry standards.

“At Enertis Applus+, we are committed to delivering high-quality testing services to support the thriving solar energy industry in Australia. Our new PV Mobile Lab unit brings state-of-the-art testing capabilities directly to solar farms, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of PV modules while minimizing downtime and transportation risks. We are excited to contribute to the growth and sustainability of Australia’s renewable energy sector” said José María Peris, Country Lead – Australia at Enertis Applus+.

Enertis Applus+ has been operating in Oceania since 2019, especially in Australia and New Zealand, providing technical consultancy services, quality control at source and specialized testing for which it has a track record of 4 GWp of solar projects and 1 GWh of battery energy storage projects. In addition, Applus+ has been operating in the Australian market since 1980 in various sectors, such as renewables, infrastructure and energy.
