Enertis participates as speaker in the event “El Futuro Solar Centroamérica” focusing on the potential of the emerging solar markets in the region.

To date, Central America has become one of the regions with the highest potential for solar PV development.The institutional support and the interest for commercial and residential scale have raised the estimations to 250 MW of  new solar PV installations by 2015.

This forecast is therefore attracting more and more companies searching for opportunities in the region, as exemplified by the recent tender of Panama´s grid operator where more than 70 companies expressed their interest.

Enertis has been working in the region since the beginning of 2013 and has local presence in Panama and Guatemala. During this period, different types of services have been carried out including solar resource studies, technical due diligences for projects finance or acquisition, PV plants design and engineering, on-site testing for modules quality verification, owner´s support during all stages of the project cycleincluding owner´s engineering and construction supervision.

In its role as independent technical advisor, Enertis has participated in the session “Challenges and Opportunities” within the framework of the event “El Futuro Solar:Centroamérica” organised by SolarPlaza in Panama City. In this presentation and according to its experience in the region, Enertis has described the process of a technical due diligence for this kind of projects, as well as the ways to ensure feasibility, robustness and best practices.
