Enertis, a leading global consulting and engineering firm in the renewable energy sector and storage solutions, strengthens its collaboration with Matrix Renewables, the global renewable energy platform created and supported by global alternative asset manager TPG and its impact investing platform, The Rise Fund, providing owner’s engineering services for a portfolio of solar photovoltaic projects located in Latin America.
Specifically, Enertis acted as technical advisor to Matrix Renewables in the acquisition and construction of 24 solar photovoltaic projects developed under the Small Distributed Generation (PMGD) program. The projects, located in Chile, have a total capacity of 178 MWp. The portfolio includes projects in operation, under construction and under development. Enertis has performed construction and operation and maintenance contract reviews, detailed engineering review, construction supervision and provisional acceptance verification.
Moreover, Enertis worked as owner’s engineer in three Matrix Renewables’ solar photovoltaic projects located in Colombia, with a total capacity of 82 MWp, providing the same services as the ones mentioned above.
Luis Sabate, Matrix Renewables’ Chief Operating Officer, explained that: “Matrix Renewables’ strategy is to grow in different regions around the world, among them is Latin America, where it is important to rely on companies such as Enertis that provide technical services that are necessary to ensure the quality of the portfolios we acquire. Enertis has been very important in the launch of our first portfolios in Chile and Colombia”.
In the words of Aitor Ilundain, Enertis’ Country Manager in Chile: “Enertis has 18.5 GW of experience in Chile and 3 GW in Colombia. Both countries are positioned at the top of the ranking to promote energy transformation to sustainable energies in Latin America. Specifically, Chile has been ranked as the best emerging country to invest in renewable energy projects and Colombia the tenth. At Enertis, we are proud to work together with companies like Matrix Renewables, a reference in the sector, and we are committed to continue contributing our knowledge in both regions and to continue offering innovative engineering, consulting and quality control services in the different phases of the life of solar photovoltaic projects, in order to help both countries achieve a decarbonized economy”.
With these projects, Enertis strengthens its presence in South America, a region in which it has been developing its activity since 2010 and in which it has a total of 30 GW of accumulated experience.
