Enertis Applus+ conducts advanced diagnostics on four Proton Energy’s solar plants in Brazil with its PV mobile laboratory

- Enertis Applus+ carried out on-site tests on PV modules at four solar plants totaling 113 MW of capacity and located in the northeastern region of Brazil.
- The PV Mobile Lab was deployed on site, reducing the time and risks associated with transportation and module downtime.
- Available in Brazil since the end of 2024, PV Mobile Laboratory units are also operational in Chile, Mexico, Europe, and Australia.
Madrid, June 3, 2025 – Enertis Applus+, a global engineering consultancy firm with extended expertise in the renewable energy and storage sectors, carried out specialized tests on the PV modules of four solar plants located in northeastern region of Brazil. These assets have a total capacity of 113 MW and are part of Proton Energy’s portfolio.
Enertis Applus+ conducted the inspection on the Angico (27 MW), Malta (27 MW), Esmeralda (29 MW), and Sobrado (30 MW) solar plants, located in the states of Bahia, Pernambuco, and Paraíba. These services aim at evaluating module health and performance, determining the degradation rate. To this end, maximum power determination tests under Standard Test Conditions (STC) were conducted, along with electroluminescence tests, which allow for the identification of internal defects, such as microcracks and broken or inactive cells.
All tests were performed directly at the PV sites with the Enertis Applus+ PV Mobile Lab, designed to operate on site. This solution minimizes the risks associated with module transportation and reduces module downtime. The PV Mobile Lab is equipped with an A+A+A+ rated solar simulator, ensuring the highest quality of testing and accuracy as per industry standards.
José Manuel Rivas, Head of Testing & Optimization at Enertis Applus+, emphasized: “With our PV Mobile Lab we conducted our specialized tests directly at Proton Energy’s solar plants, delivering highly accurate diagnostics that enhance the optimization and profitability of these assets, while also reducing the risks associated with inspection activities. The PV Mobile Lab technology underscores our commitment to innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of the Brazilian renewable energy market.”
Available in Brazil since the end of 2024, the PV Mobile Lab is part of a global network with operational units in Chile, Mexico, Europe, and Australia. In Central and Latin America alone, Enertis Applus+ has provided specialized technical testing services with its PV Mobile Lab to over 70 PV projects totaling 8.7 GW in capacity, delivering comprehensive diagnostics of more than 38,000 solar modules.
In the Brazilian market, Enertis Applus+ has a track record of over 14 GW delivering high-value engineering, consulting, technical inspection, and quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) services to renewable energy and BESS projects. This extensive experience strengthens its role as strategic technical advisor for the main industry, leveraging Applus+ local structure and distinctive technical capabilities.
